Last updated: July 2026. These terms cover using the Garba Groove website, booking classes, and buying tickets to our events. They're written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected] and a human will explain it.
Who we are
Garba Groove runs garba and dandiya classes across the San Francisco Bay Area, and lists and hosts garba events. Booking a class, buying a ticket, or using this site means you agree to these terms.
Classes and bookings
- Booking a class or joining a waitlist is a request for a spot; we confirm your place by email or message.
- Class schedules, levels, venues, and prices can change. We'll always show the current details before you pay.
- Please arrive ready to move. For everyone's safety, follow the instructor's guidance during class.
Event tickets
- Some events are hosted by Garba Groove; others are community events we list because we think they're worth your evening. Each listing says which is which.
- Ticket sales, checkout, and order confirmations for our events are handled on our ticketing site at app.garbagroove.com.
- Tickets are valid only for the event, date, and time shown. Please bring your order confirmation to enter.
Payments
- Class and ticket prices are shown before you pay, in US dollars.
- Some events are paid by offline methods such as Venmo or Zelle. When you choose one, your order is held as awaiting payment until we confirm we've received it — your spot isn't final until then. Use the order reference we give you so we can match your payment.
- We verify offline payments by hand, usually within a day or two, and email you once your order is confirmed.
Refunds and changes
- If we cancel a class or event, you'll get a full refund or a credit — your choice.
- For attendee-requested refunds and transfers, email [email protected] before the event and we'll do our best; specific events may set their own refund window, which we'll state on the event.
- No-shows and late cancellations may not be refundable.
Code of conduct
Garba Groove is for everyone — every background, every level. We don't tolerate harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior at classes or events. We may decline service or remove anyone who puts others at risk, without a refund where the behavior warrants it.
Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information when you book or buy.
- Dance within your own limits. You take part in physical activity at your own risk, and should check with a doctor if you're unsure it's right for you.
- Don't misuse the site — no attempts to disrupt it, scrape it, or break the law through it.
Liability
We run our classes and events with care, but to the extent the law allows, Garba Groove isn't liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from classes, events, or use of this site. Nothing here limits rights that can't be limited under applicable law.
Privacy
How we handle your information is covered in our privacy policy.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site or events after a change means you accept the updated terms.
