Safety and how we run a room

Follow the instructor, dance within your own limits, and treat the circle well. Here's what that means in practice.

The short version: follow the instructor, dance within your own limits, and treat the circle the way you'd want to be treated in it. Here's what that means in practice.

During class

Please arrive ready to move, and follow the instructor's guidance for the full session — that's what keeps everyone, including you, safe on the floor. Garba moves fast once the music picks up, and the instructor's cues (spacing, pace, when to sit a sequence out) are there for a reason.

Dance within your own limits

You're taking part in physical activity at your own risk. Garba is real cardio once the tempo climbs — if you're unsure whether it's right for you, check with a doctor first. Nobody here is going to push you past what feels right; pace yourself, take water breaks, and sit out a round if you need to. That's normal, not a failure.

Code of conduct

Garba Groove is for everyone — every background, every level. We don't tolerate harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior at classes or events. Anyone who puts others at risk may be asked to leave, without a refund where the behavior warrants it.

If something happens that shouldn't have, tell an instructor directly or email [email protected] — a person reads it, and we take it seriously.
